Ghana Ladies's Personality of Month
Ghana Ladies team would like to introduce you to our personality of the month in November
Dorigen Bamfo aka Obaahemaa Tiwaa

Dorigen was born and raised in Kumasi, Ghana, now lives in the U.S.A. for about 9years. She is currently working and attending college (majoring in Nursing(RN)).
Ghana ladies.com: What is your biggest political or sociological issue facing the world today that you are most passionate about?
Dorigen: To be honest am not really into politics but sometimes I get worried about where our leaders are taken us.
It looks like day by day the rich keeps getting richer and the poor keeps getting poorer and nothing seems to be done about it.
There are many ways the leaders can help with these situation. What am most passionate about is our school systems, especially
for the middle class and the poor. We have some wonderful and smart people from these classes and money is really a big problem
for them. Regardless of how smart they are the cant get into a good school. I think the leader need to create more scholarship programs
and jobs for the less privilege. This will help the economy.
Ghana ladies.com: How do you describe a purpose filled life?
Dorigen: For one, when we know our purpose, we have an anchor, a device of the mind to provide some stability, to keep the surprises of
a creative universe from tossing us to and fro, from inflicting constant seasickness on us. Or we can think of our purpose as being a master
nautical chart marking shoals and rocks. Perhaps the most profound thing about “being on purpose” is that when that is our status, our
condition, and our comfort, we find our lives have meaning, and when we are “off purpose” we are confused about meanings and motives.
”
When I am living from my true soul’s purpose, I feel more alive, filled with excitement, joy, and inner peace, in a word “contentment.” I am
more connected to other human beings and more content with who I am and what I do.
When we are “on purpose” we tap into a higher power, we have supernatural support! The best things in life seem to be naturally attracted to us.
When we are not on purpose, we try to do it all alone! We grasp at straws, everything looks good—whether it is a new job, going to school, moving, finding another lover—anything to fill the void of the extreme emptiness we feel inside.
Not being on purpose leads to constant seeking--- external things to make you feel more fulfilled. Being on purpose leads to effortless contentment---an internal peace with what is unfolding in your life. You have a feeling of “all is right with the world” and I have an important part to play! Every human being has the universal purpose of learning how to love more. Every human begin has his or her unique purpose of helping to heal our planet and other people. Planet Earth is the ultimate university for our souls, where you have the task of learning your lessons, showing love, and sharing gifts.
You can evolve yourself by understanding, accepting, and taking action to live out your universal and unique life purposes. Everyone is born to do something specific. A role and opportunity was entrusted to you and you alone. If you don’t know your life purpose, you are still a diamond in the rough. Discovering one’s life purpose is like cutting a diamond. Every gem quality diamond has within it a ready-made design, waiting to be discovered. So do you. The secret is to discover and actualize your unique pattern. Like a diamond needs to be excavated to have worth, you have to dig deep within yourself to discover your unique life purpose and fulfill it.
Ghana ladies.com: What has been the most important life lesson that you have learned so far?
Dorigen: The most important lesson that I've learned in life is NEVER, EVER GIVE UP. You can accomplish any goal or dream that you want, provided that it's realistic and you remain steadfast and faithful in God, then you can do anything God wants you to do!
It's the most important lesson that I've learned because when you don't give up, you may fall down, a once, twice, thrice, or even more times, but if you refuse to give up and get back on the race again, then you will succeed.
Ghana ladies.com: Why is a Ghanaian woman important to the Ghana?
Dorigen: Wow I didn’t think I would be asked this question because why should a Ghanaian woman be important to the Ghana society. Think about it who gave birth to all the greatest and the most powerful leaders we have now in our country, a Ghanaian woman. Without Ghanaian woman there would be no nation or country call Ghana, that's why they call it Ghana my mother land. Ghanaian woman are the mother of the country.
Ghana ladies.com: How does the world look through your eyes?
Dorigen: Well, I suppose if the world looked through my eyes, then it would be a perfect world which wouldn't need any police...if we had them, there will be kindly helpful figures that everyone respected but no-one was afraid of, because of course there would be no violent crime! In my perfect world there would be no organised religion (or anyway religion should have no special status, any more than your political affiliation), just a population who really loved, understood and revered this wonderful planet and how incredibly lucky we are to be here. And we would all have enough to eat, and nobody would get too obscenely rich...getting carried away now.
Ghana ladies.com: Most Memorable moment in your life thus far?
Dorigen: You can't be sure till near the end of your life because things happen. Old memories sometimes get replaced with new memories. My longest memory is the moment (the day) I got married. Every woman not women per say but parents wants to see their daughter get married, seeing my parents happy makes me happy. So I would have to say my wedding day.
Ghana ladies.com: What are the two things a Ghanaian woman should never take for granted?
Dorigen: The two things Ghanaian woman should not take for granted is been a Ghanaian woman, that’s the most important thing, take pride and know that it’s a privilege to be born into such a wonderful Ghanaian community. Being a Ghanaian woman is not like been any other woman, it makes you different is many way, like the culture (being well brought up in a respectable home). Most woman are just woman but been a Ghanaian is been a virtues woman like the Bible says (a virtues woman who can find), that’s what been a Ghanaian woman is all about.
Ghana ladies.com: What is your personal mission in life?
Dorigen: My purpose throughout each day of my life is to express my commitment to love and cherish my family and friends, improve myself personally and professionally so that I can advance within my career, lead a successful career that I will enjoy, and take on any challenges that come my way and also to grow spiritually and serve as a vessel of God's will. I will strive to make a positive difference in every person I interact with and always continue to improve my body, mind, emotions and spirit with truth and love. I remain teachable and grateful."
Ghana ladies.com: Who is your favourite female role model, past or present, and why?
Dorigen: I always my mother no matter what. Why do I say my mother is my favourite female role model? The reason is because she’s been through what am going through now in life and not only does she treats me as an equal but she is honest, trusting, and most of all open-minded. She encourages me to believe I can get to where she is. That what a role model should be and that’s why I choose my mother to be my favourite female role model.
Ghana ladies.com: Favourite affirmation/inspirational quote?
Dorigen: when it comes to quotes I have many but my favourite is "Ones best success comes after their greatest disappointments."
Ghana ladies.com: Any additional comments or advice for our Ghana ladies?
Dorigen: My sincere hope is for me to continue focusing on what really matters for me in life and helping others attain their goals when I am given a chance. Regardless if am picked to be a role model or not I will still remain true to myself as years go by and I will try to infuse the principles, my role model has given me while growing up, to my children and grandchildren. Their future journey in life depicts from their ability to become aware of who they really are and what they want to succeed before realizing that age has caught up with their dreams.
